PROJECT 1
Anza Walkway Bridge is located in San Francisco Bay in Burlingame, California. This bridge is about 220 feet in length which is supported by 20 wood pile posts into the dense mud. The piles had lost significant cross section area due to adverse weather and old age. The fastest and most cost effective was to use the FRP around each pile approximately 2 feet in the dense mud and 3 feet above the high tide. The entire project was completed in two weeks and was useable right after the construction. As a matter of fact, this bridge was used a week after the retrofit was completed as part of their route in their city's annual half marathon event.
